The National Museum of Decorative Arts was created in 1937 by Law 12351 National Government determined the acquisition of the residence and art collection of Josefina de Alvear and Matias Errázuriz. The building, an excellent example of the French-style eclectic boom, in the city of Buenos Aires, in the early 20th century period furniture, paintings, sculptures and decorative art objects fully justified this investment to provide the community with a new museum.
