The first headquarters of the MNBA was established in the galleries of the Bon Marché on Florida Street, a building built to house the store of French origin and where the galleries of the Pacific are currently located. In 1909, the museum's collection had multiplied by twenty, which is why it had to move.
The 2,000 m2 Ground Floor is mainly dedicated to showcasing international art collections from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. An important library specialized in art, whose current patrimony is of more than 150,000 pieces, completes the plan that is projected in the surrounding parks. At the reception, an artistic library offers visitors an up-to-date bibliography.
